As the population in the U.S. continues to age (the famous “silver tsunami”) and adult children look for ways that their loved ones can engage in physical and social activities, the concept of adult enrichment centers has become more prevalent. These facilities, often referred to as adult day centers, play a crucial role in providing seniors with opportunities for learning, social interaction, and engagement in a supportive environment.
This post aims to offer insights into the array of topics covered during sessions at adult enrichment centers and the benefits these centers bring to participants and their relationships with loved ones. We will provide a detailed look into the activities and educational opportunities available, emphasizing the professional and accessible nature of these services. Whether you are a caregiver, family member, or a senior interested in joining an enrichment center, this guide is designed to help you understand the value and impact of these facilities in enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
An adult enrichment center, like Evergreen Studios, is a place where a variety of services are provided to seniors to better aid them in aging at home.
These centers contain a range of programming including:
An adult enrichment center essentially offers the same foundational services as traditional adult daycare, yet Evergreen is redefining what this experience can be. Today, many adult day care centers are sterile, stark and lack the resources to provide a vibrant experience.
While supporting members with a range of needs, including cognitive issues and mild cases of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, Evergreen elevates the standard through a member-centric approach. We are transforming perceptions of adult daycare centers by focusing on enriching activities and personalized care, aiming to change how these essential services are viewed and experienced by seniors and their families.
Adult enrichment centers address several key pain points for caregivers and seniors alike, offering solutions that can significantly alleviate cost concerns, caregiver burnout, as well as stress and anxiety for both parties.
At Evergreen, our goal is to bring you daily peace of mind knowing that your loved one is cared from a number of perspectives:
Our staff has extensive training in working with seniors with cognitive impairments and dementia, customer service and senior care. Many of them have personal experiences with caring for a parent or older loved one and understand the importance of delivering an elevated experience to our members and families.
After we conduct evaluations to understand a baseline of your loved one’s cognition, mobility, socialization and nutrition, we then actively track participation across programming every time they attend our studio.
For example, we would work to set engagement or participation goals for members who come to our Studio from a home environment where they may have had many hours alone, with little interaction and socialization.
We would track participation as well as progress on co-leading activities, help them get a “job” in the Studio, and find other ways to integrate them into our Studio to give them a sense of purpose.
Every 90 days, we analyze progress and adjust goals accordingly.
Adult Day Care Centers can sometimes be a four letter word, offering uninspiring images of bleak and boring senior care. Evergreen aims to change the image of adult day care one studio at a time by providing a range of evidenced-based programs that drive positive health outcomes, while also elevating the level of customer service, and attention to detail, your loved one receives.
We view our customers as our seniors as well as their adult children, and understand that in order for us to be a preferred solution we need to solve pain points for seniors’ loved ones as well.
